2nd place at the Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa

The Centenary 24 Hours of Spa ended with the AF Corse – Francorchamps Motors team’s number 51 296 GT3 car finishing in second place. Alessandro Pier Guidi, who drove the final leg, shared the car with official Prancing Horse drivers Alessio Rovera and Davide Rigon. Although the team led the race until 48 minutes before the finish, their victory hopes were dashed when Pier Guidi encountered a stationary car in the pit lane during his last refueling stop. This incident prevented the 296 GT3 from securing the anticipated win.

The race was heavily impacted by rain, leading to numerous incidents and extended delays with over twenty Full Course Yellows. Despite these challenges, our two cars remained competitive.

The pivotal moment came when Pier Guidi, leading by more than 20 seconds after completing 457 laps, found the number 19 Lamborghini blocking the pit lane. This obstruction delayed the Ferrari's crucial final refueling by over 40 seconds. Pier Guidi rejoined the race in eighth place but impressively recovered six positions to secure a podium finish.

Our second team, car number 71, faced difficulties after a collision with two other cars at La Source early Sunday morning, driven by David Vidales. The Ferrari, also driven by official driver Thomas Neubauer and Vincent Abril, started from the third row but had to retire after 236 laps.

Coming next : The GT World Challenge Europe – Endurance Cup will continue with the 3 Hours of Nürburgring, the third event of the season, on July 27-28.
